4 OILS TO ASSIST YOUR MEDITATION PRACTICE

One of the best and simplest things that you can do to improve your health is starting a meditation practice. In our crazy, fast paced world, the practice of slowing things down, coming into the present and calming the noise has endless benefits. 

But with all that we have coming at us on a daily basis, it can be difficult to jump right into meditation. 

Here are 4 essential oils that can assist your meditation practice:

Grounding Blend

This is a blend creating a fresh, airy and woody scent that (as you may have guessed) creates a grounding space. It creates a sense of tranquility and balance and helps ease anxious feelings. Put a drop or two on the bottoms of your feet or back of your neck, or breathe straight from the bottle to help ease into your meditation.

Frankincense

This warm and spicy oil is the king of oils, and has been part of spiritual practices for ages. This oil promotes feelings of relaxation and can be used for warming and soothing effects. Rub a few drops into both feet and on your temples while connecting to your breath.

Joyful Blend

A floral, sweet and citrus-y blend, Joyful Blend of oils is excellent for lifting the spirits and elevating the mood. If you want to create a positive and revitalizing space with your meditation practice you can diffuse this oils or place a drop or two on your wrists and behind your ears. 

Ylang Ylang

With a sweet, rich and spicy aroma, this beautiful oil can add great benefits to your meditation practice. It can help lift your mood while having a calming effect. It adds a balancing component to your meditation practice, filtering out negativity. My favorite is diffusing this oil with Bergamot during meditation.

 
 

You don't need to jump into an hour at a time to gain the benefits. Start with a couple of minutes. Close your eyes, pay attention to your breathing, slow it down and deepen it, and pay attention to the thoughts that are coming through.

You can also create a positive mantra to focus on during your meditation. 

Find a comfortable place to start. There is no perfect to meditation, just start somewhere and notice the changes!
